WHY NOT I ?
Angela Fine ©2003
In
the world we make
With our minds that break
The Perfect formless
Unbroken Light
There's the paradox of no felt dilemma
When it looks so dark, but feels so "Bright"
I watch the clouds arise
In the vast blue sky
But The Perfect Sun
Still Shines
And It Pervades them without limit
And I presume that so should I
One of the best parts of this play is knowing you
I love the way you talk, and the things that you say
I really do
Well I dig your lips
And your finger tips
And I like the way you move
And your eyes so blue
And every hair upon your head
I'll place a rose upon your bed
In the world we make
With our minds that break
The Perfect formless
Unbroken Light
There's the paradox of no felt dilemma
The goddess laughs, so why not I ?
YOUR ISLAND
Angela Fine ©2003
On your island
Separated by miles of salt and sand
Do children leave their impressions
Or is it desolate, but for confessions
Of stolen tidewater
And wood that has only drifted in
But that you wanted to make something with
Maybe a nice pair of bookends
Though it was never yours to begin
On your island
The serpent circles the maya
Rudimentary patterns
Repeat, til at last they are shattered
Like broken crystal dreams, colors reflect
What's Unbroken, and Only Perfect
Unbound in love's light stream
You don't need to seek anything

WOE IS ME
Angela Fine ©2003
Your
reluctance is grieving me
Yet you're not leaving me, and
I have your number
And there's only one to call
Once I knew a fortune teller
Dressed like a woman, and looked like a feller
And I asked him to give me
His crystal ball
Whoa woe is me
I cannot tell the future
I cannot hold the things of this world
And I'm bewildered by its creatures
And I only know for certain
I'm bound to free fall
Well, I'm well rehearsed at love rejection
It seems to be my predilection
But I haven't the heart for it
no more
The director is calling me
And the curtain is falling
And I only know for certain
I don't know nothing at all
Well, there are lions
And then there are lambs
And I don't know which
One I am
But you have my number
And there's only one to call
Once I was a fortune teller
Had a big turban wrap and gee it was swell
And you gave me a dollar just to
Look at your palm
And I said woe is me
I can see the future
You cannot hold the things of this world
And you're bewildered by its creatures
And you only know for certain
You're bound to fall
Once I knew a fortune teller
Dressed like a woman, and looked like a feller
But the director is calling
And the curtain is falling
And I only know for certain
I don't know nothing at all
ONCE IN A WHILE
Angela Fine ©2003
Do you love Me ?
Really love Me ?
What, then, will you do ?
You may swim the deepest ocean
Tethered to a wave
But when you splashed upon My Feet
Would your heart still crave ?
If you brought Me flowers
I would surely Smile
But, could you think of Me more than
Once in a while ?
Do you love Me ?
Really love Me ?
What, then, will you do ?
You could climb the highest mountain
To meet Me face to face
But you would Only Find
That I had never left My Place
If you brought Me flowers
I would surely Smile
But could you think of Me more than
Once in a while ?
DREW
Angela Fine ©2003
Drew, youre
a man of substance
And quality, indeed
But you always gave too much
And never did receive
How can you expect me to believe
That it would only make you cool
Anyone who sleeps on nails
Does surely bleed
Drew, you think youre
a stranger
In this land of fools
But you are much too real
To walk in solitary shoes
And if you ever want things different
Then Ill be standing here
Ill be the one
Who gives to you
Drew, youre
a man of kindness
Quietly tending your garden
But another fellow hanging on a cross
Beat you to begging our pardon
